Rory Pascar

Rory Pascar has been playing competitive backgammon for almost 30 years. He is a 2-time ABT Tournament winner (Wisconsin State Championship 2010 and Central States Invitational 2014) and a 5-time Chicago Bar Point Club Player of the Year. Over the past decade, Rory has become one of the top ABT Tournament Directors. His background in hospitality helped him transform the Chicago Open into one of the premier ABT events. This success along with the work he did in running online tournaments during the Covid-19 period of 2020 & 2021 led Howard Markowitz to pass the Las Vegas ABT tournament “reigns” on to Rory (2 events: U.S. Open in April & the Las Vegas Open in November). In October of 2021, Rory organized and directed the 1st St. Louis Gateway Open tournament. He is currently working with other members of the backgammon community to bring ABT events to new areas of the country.

Rory is a Gold Level Founding Sponsor and looks forward to working with his fellow board members to help grow backgammon in the United States.
