On Thursday evenings, @ 5:00 PM, we meet at The Side Quest – Board Game Cafe, 1300 East 68th Avenue, Suite 102. The Side Quest accommodates us until store closing at 11:00 PM. Thursday nights are for casual play, with lessons/instruction provided as requested of either Ed Sawyer or me. Although there is no “club charge” for attending any gathering of the Anchorage Backgammon Club, The Side Quest does impose an “access charge fee” of $6.00 per person for our backgammon attendees (which is a 50% discount from its “standard” $12.00 per person “access charge fee”).
On Saturday evenings @ 5:00 PM, we meet at the Alaskan Burger & Brew #2 restaurant, 8010 Old Seward Highway. Saturday evenings are primarily for our Player of the Year competition and are considered more competitive. AB&B closes at 10:00 PM, and we try to conclude the evening’s competition by or before 9:45 PM.
Friday afternoons @ 1:00 – 4 PM – Ed Sawyer also hosts an everyone-welcome “Backgammon Lessons/casual play”, which convenes in the Coffee Shop seating area at our mid-town Barnes & Noble Bookstore, 200 East Northern Lights Blvd. Ed can give you his “office hours” authoritatively. RSVP to confirm.
