Commentator Code of Conduct

These standards are mandatory for all commentators to ensure respectful, professional, and welcoming coverage for all viewers.

1. Respect the Community

You represent the backgammon community. Your conduct should reflect professionalism and respect for the game, its players, and its audience.

2. Inclusive Tone

Do not make remarks or jokes that demean, stereotype, or belittle any individual or group. This includes, but is not limited to, comments based on race, ethnicity, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, national origin, physical appearance, or any other personal characteristic or background.

3. Professional Presence

Always assume the microphone is live. Keep commentary professional and focused on the event. Do not swear, use inappropriate humor, or engage in political or partisan commentary. Do not eat or use cell phones while on air or engage in any other unprofessional behavior that detracts from the broadcast.

4. Teach, Don’t Mock

Explain ideas constructively. Do not belittle players, their decisions, or their skill.
