June 9 – Brass City 2nd Annual Summer Regional Tournament (USBGF Added Money)

The Brass City Backgammon Club is pleased to announce that the US Backgammon Federation (USBGF) will provide added money to its 2nd Annual Summer Regional Tournament, June 9, 2018.

Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department

Middlebury, CT
Registration: 10:00 AM                               Entry: $60 ($15 side pool)
Start: 11:00AM
Double-elimination format, 9-pt. matches / 9-pt. final (7-pt. matches in the consolation bracket) — all players are guaranteed at least two matches

•  $60.00 entry fee / optional $15.00 side pool

•  100% return (main and side pool) with $60.00 additional prize money added (courtesy of Brass City Backgammon)

•  Side events include a special board blitz (win a beautiful travel board, courtesy of Gammon Guys) and 5-point blitzes that will run throughout the day.

•  $15.00 hospitality fee includes a luncheon buffet (soda & water provided; you may bring your own beer or wine)

•  Registration begins at 10 AM – tournament begins promptly at 11 AM!

•  Trophies for first, second, and third place

•  This event will be played in accord with USBGF rules and will be a clocked event

•  Please bring your own board (and clock if you have one)

We’re excited to announce that we’ve added a new event to our 2018 Summer Regional Tournament! During the day, we will be having a “Board Blitz” tourney. For just a $25.00 entry fee, eight players will compete for a beautiful new Brass City Backgammon travel board (a $450.00 value), courtesy of Gammon Guys.

This is part of the USBGF Added Money Local Club Initiative. The winner of the added money (USBGF member) will *also* win an entry into the free-roll inter-club Championships in March 2019. The winner of that online event will win an entry into the ABT event of their choice. They will *also* be featured in an article in the PrimeTme magazine and have the finals match analyzed by an expert.
