I seem to play 7 & 9 pt. matches very well. BUT when I get to 5 pt matches my ELO drops. I struggle with 5 pt matches? Any advice is appreciated. I recently switched my exgammon to 5 pt matches to help. My local clubs are only playing 5 pt matches and it’s killing me.

    Hi Karl,

I would highly recommend studying Kit Woolsey’s “Five Point Match” article.

    See: http://www.bkgm.com/articles/GOL/Aug99/fivept.htm

Let us know if that helps!

Completely agree,. Kit Woolsey is a brilliant theorist, both in bridge and backgammon.

The beauty of his articles is that they are clear and helpful. Very little unnecessary trivia.

Kit has helped my own game tremendously.
