There’s still time to book your room for the 37th Chicago Open, May 25-29, 2017, which will be at the Holiday Inn & Suites at O’Hare Airport Hotel, Rosemont, IL. Call 800-972-2494 before May 17 for the $106 group rate. The action begins on Thursday with the Backgammon Olympiad, followed by the Faster Master on Friday. Limited Jackpots and Seniors liven things up before the Markowitz Masters Qualifier, with Doubles and the Taki Board Tournament right behind.

Don’t miss the Calcutta Auction Saturday before the ABT Open, Intermediate and Novice events begin. Sunday’s Proficiency Test and Michy Michihito’s review of it on Monday wind up a busy but satisfying weekend.

All Novice entrants will receive a book prize from the U.S. Backgammon Foundation and a free one-year trial membership. Do encourage local club players and family members who are new to tournament play to give it a try.
