Columbus Backgammon Monthly (Added USBGF Money) Feb 11

The Columbus Backgammon Club is pleased to announce that the US Backgammon Federation (USBGF) will provide added money to its monthly tournament (a USBGF Local Club Prime Tournament) on Sunday, February 11. The added money pool will be minimum $85 You do not have to be a USBGF member to play, but do to be eligible for the added money. You may join or renew your USBGF membership online as well as at the event.

The winners of USBGF Local Club Prime Tournaments will compete in an online USBGF Online Club Championship event with a great prize — a free entry to an ABT tournament of the winner’s choice! This online tournament of winners of the club competitions will begin on March 1. To be eligible for added money and free ABT entry players must have an active USBGF membership.

Date: Sunday, February 11, 2018
Time: Registration begins at 11:30 am, tournament begins at 12:00 noon

Entry Fee: $20, 100% return

Side Pools: Two separate side pools ($10 and $20), 100% return

Format: Single-elimination with a Consolation bracket (players who don’t cash in the Main bracket are fed into the Consolation bracket)
Main bracket: 7-point matches (9-point final)
Consolation bracket: 5-point matches (7-point final)

Last Chance: If there is sufficient interest, players who are eliminated early from the main tournament (before 3:00 pm) may enter a round-robin event for a small additional entry fee (100% return). See the website for more details.

This is part of the USBGF Added Money Local Club Initiative. The winner of the added money (USBGF member) will *also* win an entry into the free-roll inter-club Championships in March 2018. The winner of that online event will win an entry into the ABT event of their choice. They will *also* be featured in an article in the PrimeTme magazine and have the finals match analyzed by an expert.
