Cherry Blossom Backgammon Championship May 10-13 — Enjoy the Convenience of Registering Online!

The Cherry Blossom Backgammon Championship will be held May 10 – 13. It is featuring online registration — you can choose to pay by credit card in advance, mail in a check, or pay by cash at the door all by registering for the tournament online. The tournament is directed by a first rate tournament staff team headed by Barry Silliman, long-time director of the Beltway Backgammon Club, assisted by Hall-of-Famer Kent Goulding, Ben Friesen, Julius High, Jeb, Robin, and Paul Horton; Andy Lindeberg will stream key matches throughout,

The Cherry Blossom will be held at a new venue this year — the exquisite Hyatt Regency Dulles, Herndon, VA. The $117 plus taxes special room rate is valid from May 10 – 13 when reserved by April 15 so act now to reserve online or call 1.888.421.1442. Space is limited so don’t delay!

Jeb Horton will direct a BMAB-USA event starting Wednesday evening May 9 at 6:30 pm and ending at 1 pm on Thursday May 10. Enter and gain points in four 11-point rounds toward grandmaster/master designation.

The USBGF National Championship East has a free first entry for USBGF members with a beautiful FTH board prize to the winner; the winner will play against the winner of the USBGF National Championship West at the LA Open in June for the USBGF Grand Championship,

Marty Storer and Steve Sax, Backgammon Grandmasters will provide a teaching match on Sunday morning. A special Mother’s Day event on Sunday May 13 is set for all women players with flowers and cash to the winner.

There’s over $2500 added money and prizes including $500 from the U.S. Backgammon Federation for USBGF members, an FTH Board valued at $925, $1000 added money donated to a BluffGammon event, and $200 in the Alfred Mamlet Newcomer’s FreeRoll. All first-time Novice entrants at the tournament will receive a Bill Robertie book prize from the U.S. Backgammon Foundation and a free one-year trial USBGF membership.
