Bill Riles is President and Executive Director of the U.S. Backgammon Federation, and a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. In addition, he directed the inaugural Texas Backgammon Championships in 2013, one of the most successful first-time events drawing over 130 entrants from as far as Norway and Japan, including 17 Giants of Backgammon and all top five Giants. He is a frequent fixture on the American Backgammon Tour (ABT), participating in more events than anyone except Ray Fogerlund! He won the Badger Classic masters jackpot in Wisconsin in 2012, after coming in second in that event in 2010. He also won the Michigan Masters in 2009. He is a civil engineer educated at Rice University and, prior to retiring, worked in the offshore oil and gas industry.
